bestlite black brass

To mark the occasion of GUBI’s 50th anniversary, we are proud to launch one of the most groundbreaking light designs through time - the Bestlite Collection, in Black Brass. Bestlite was the first collection to be reproduced by GUBI and have ever since been an important part of our DNA and contributing to our success. With the introduction of the Black Brass version, the Bestlite Collection becomes one of the world’s most complete and functional lamp collection on the market. All versions (except BL9 L and XL and BL10) are honored with an elegant lamp stand in Black Brass, which contributes to a luxurious antique look, and supplied with a shade in the same finish, bone china or classic white. A beautiful combination that perfectly marries traditional aesthetics with contemporary thinking.

Bestlite

Designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, the Bestlite BL1 Table Lamp is a coveted design worldwide with strong references to Bauhaus. Winston Churchill, former Prime Minister of Great Britain, personally chose the Bestlite BL1 Table Lamp for his desk in the Whitehall and history records that Churchill even took the lamp with him on his countless trips around the world. This was the big breakthrough for the Bestlite, which has made it a design classic today. The minimalistic yet distinctive design makes it the perfect fit for any home office, workspace, creative corner or even as the lighting at your bedside table or in the living room.

The Bestlite design stays close to its industrial roots and true to its original design. Bestlite is held in permanent collections at both the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. Loved by architects, designers and design aficionados throughout its long history, today, Bestlite has become a contemporary classic.
